Click above How would you like to save time and not be overwhelmed, while saving money? You can do that by systemising your business. I am going to talk through ways to systemise your business today, without being overwhelmed. A lot of people think that systemising means a huge amount of work, so, I want to put that right!
1. Get clear on your strategies
You need to know what strategies you are using, in order to systemise. For instance, if you’re putting together your marketing system, you need to know what marketing strategies to use. Don’t get caught up in worrying about what strategies you’ll be using and whether or not you’ll be using them in three months time. We are looking at the now — what strategies are you using now? It’s really important to document the strategies, because you can always change them further down the line. And, if you do change them, you want to be able to remember and go back to know what strategies you’ve already tried, and stepped away from.
2. Create a business hub
A business hub centralises everything in your business. You can store everything related to your business in one central place. How many times have you filed something in that safe space only to go back a month later, and spend hours searching for it? Having a business hub takes that stress away.
3. Each time you are completing a task record your screen
When you’re next to doing a step in the process, just turn your screen recorder on and video yourself doing it. Pro tip: make sure that you’re talking through as you’re doing the task on the screen. And there’s a big reason for that which you’ll find out later. Once you’ve recorded your screen, save those videos to the business hub, so they’re all centralised. It makes everything super simple and doesn’t become overwhelming.
4. Label the process (is it something only you can do?)
What you really want to do from the start is to have a growth mindset. Even if you think you’re not going to outsource or hire a team, you still want to create a business with that mindset, because a lot of the time people set out in their business thinking it will just be them, and a couple of years later they do end up outsourcing. By doing this from the beginning, you can get really clear on what you can outsource. And then, when your time gets quite tight, and you’re thinking you need some help now because everything is becoming overwhelming, you can look back and see the things you can easily outsource.
5. Start tracking your metrics
So many people don’t track their metrics! This is a big mistake. If you’re not tracking your metrics, you cannot see what’s working and what’s not. Without knowing what’s working, you cannot do more of that thing. Make sure that you know what is working, so you can do more of that, and get to know what’s not working, so you can do less of that. This means you’ll save a lot of time and money.
6. Plan when to hire support (to take the process off your hands)
The key here, as many people say, is to hire before you are ready. However, this means you have to be close to the point of needing to hire someone immediately. A lot of people hire support before they’re actually ready. This never is a good thing because it ends up becoming overwhelming. Sometimes people hire support without having systems in place, a process and they’re not earning consistent revenue, so they end up becoming overwhelmed. This happens because they’re directing that person all the time. So, rather than doing the implementation they’re doing more of the managing and more of the directing, spending money they don’t have, which means they end up not paying for that support. Sometimes they end up becoming so stressed that they try to get more sales. And, as we all know, the worst thing to do when you’re selling is to be stressed and desperate to get those sales in, because it becomes harder and people don’t buy as easily. Make sure you’re earning consistently. A good rule of thumb is around a minimum of 2000 pounds a month, which means you can hire support. Although you’re probably not going to have the budget sat there for that support, it means that you’re not going to go into a huge panic about paying out money. I hope you found this helpful. As always, comment below if you have anything to add or if you are adding this process to systemise your business, let us know how you get on. Until next week, goodbye! Pinterest code
